Community Health

The Community Health Division was established by the Board of Health in 2006 with a mission to improve the health status of the residents of Erie County by collaborating with community health partners to monitor community health status, and provide effective interventions that would address high priority health needs.  The division is lead by a director and has 6 main areas of focus, epidemiology and surveillance, Erie-Huron WIC (Women, Infants and Children), health education, community outreach and promotion, grant procurement and health assessment.

Look Who's Walking - Is a Fitness Program. By completing 7 of the 14 free events, you get entered into a drawing for prizes which will be drawn immediately after the August 23rd walk. These walks occure every other Monday at 6:30pm at different locations throughout Erie County. This program is a joint partnership with the Erie County Health Department, City of Sandusky - Recreation Division, and Erie Metroparks.

Look Who's Walking Sandusky - Is a free neighborhood walking program within the City of Sandusky. This is a great opportunity to get outdoors and moving with others. This program is a joint partnership with the Erie County Health Department and City of Sandusky Department of Development.
