Teen Pregnancy Prevention

Don't Kid YourselfTeen Pregnancy Prevention – The Erie County Health Department has been providing “Best Practices” programs for abstinence and risk reduction for sexual activity for many years. These programs have been requested by various school systems or community agencies. Be Proud/Be Responsible, Making a Difference, Postponing Sexual Involvement and general teen pregnancy prevention programs have been presented to thousands of students, parents and other community members throughout the years.

Through dedicated staff, community collaborations and a commitment to improving the future of our children, the Erie County teen pregnancy rate has continued to remain below state and national averages.

The future of these programs remains to be seen.  As funding cuts continue, staff look for other funding sources to continue these valuable services.

If you have questions or comments regarding the teen pregnancy prevention program, please call the Health Education Supervisor at 419-626-5623.
