All mothers and their breastfed babies, as well as expectant mothers interested in breastfeeding, are welcome to come to a meeting. If a mother needs to bring along older children, we suggest bringing along some toys/activities to help keep the older children occupied during the meeting. Of course, mothers are always responsible for their own children at a LaLeche League meeting; no babysitting is provided.

Breastfeeding Outreach

WIC and members of the Firelands Area Breastfeeding Alliance (IFABA) would like to thank the Ohio Lactation Consultant Association (OLCA) for awarding us grant money to promote breastfeeding in our county. This year we chose to use our money to place banners supporting breastfeeding moms who choose to attend to their babies' needs, as they arise, which includes nursing them when they are hungry and or in need of comforting. The above picture was placed in ten transit buses, which provide transportation to Erie County residents, for a period of six months. We thank the Sandusky Transit System for their support of our project.
